Manchester United and Manchester City are both interested in Sporting Club de Portugal midfielder Morten Hjulmand for a potential transfer battle in January. Hjulmand has been a key player for Sporting and has caught the attention of big clubs in Europe. Sporting president Frederico Varandas has stated that Hjulmand turned down offers to triple his salary in the summer. Sporting are hoping that an agreement struck with the midfielder last year will prevent him from leaving this season, unless his €80m release clause is met.
