Sporting Club de Portugal negotiated with Manchester United for Viktor Gyökeres without his agents’ knowledge this summer. Gyökeres eventually joined Arsenal for €65.8m after impressive performances at Sporting. Manchester United had been linked to him due to his success under Rúben Amorim. Talks with United reportedly took place, but Gyökeres preferred Arsenal.
