The Ethereum Pectra hard fork successfully doubled the default blob count from three to six and raised the ceiling to nine. A report by ethPandaOps analyzed the performance of 123 Beacon-chain nodes across 27 countries, confirming that home users could support nine blobs. Future gas limit increases are on hold until PeerDAS is implemented in the Fusaka release.
