Last week, the SEC’s Crypto Task Force met with Nasdaq, Plume Network, and Etherealize to discuss issuing and trading tokenized securities on public blockchains. Nasdaq advocated for a digital asset-friendly venue, while Plume Network proposed a regulatory sandbox for on-chain markets, and Etherealize suggested an overhaul of transfer agent rules. All three groups called for clear taxonomy and technology-specific tweaks to support the SEC’s investor-protection mandate. Future rule proposals may include sandbox models, dedicated trading venues, and updated transfer agent obligations.
