Alliance DAO contributor Qiao Wang exposed a social engineering scam targeting Coinbase users following a data breach. Scammers impersonated Coinbase staff, obtained personal data, and tricked users into transferring assets. Coinbase disclosed the breach, terminated insiders involved, and is offering a $20 million reward for information leading to the perpetrators’ arrest. Remediation costs could reach up to $400 million.
