The initiative will provide countries with access to democratic AI tools that reflect long-standing democratic principles such as free speech and public oversight. OpenAI plans to work directly with partner nations to establish local data centers, create customized versions of ChatGPT, and develop national AI strategies with state partners. The company also intends to strengthen the safety and security systems around its AI models and launch startup funds in collaboration with each country to support local entrepreneurs and innovation.
