A compromised admin account in ZKsync’s airdrop contracts minted $5 million worth of ZK tokens, stealing unclaimed tokens. The attacker issued 111 million ZK tokens, equivalent to 0.45% of the total supply. Recovery efforts are underway, and the team is seeking the attacker’s cooperation to return the funds. ZK token’s value has dropped by 90% since launch. The CEO remains committed to the project despite the incident.
