The Human Rights Foundation launched the Bitcoin Humanitarian Alliance to support civil liberties and aid in financially repressive environments by leveraging Bitcoin. The Alliance aims to provide a platform for organizations to exchange knowledge on using Bitcoin as a financial tool, deepen collaboration, and build a global network of practitioners. The initiative has 13 founding members and plans to organize workshops, conferences, and develop educational materials. HRF emphasized the advantages of Bitcoin’s decentralized architecture and fixed monetary policy for activists seeking financial neutrality. The Alliance extends HRF’s involvement in Bitcoin, which includes supporting open-source Bitcoin projects through the Bitcoin Development Fund.
