CFTC and SEC confirm joint effort to tackle crypto regulation

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is working closely with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on crypto-related matters. They are restarting conversations at the staff level and planning a joint effort to address crypto regulation in the US. They are also engaging with the White House’s “Crypto Czar” and seeking public feedback on rulemaking efforts. The SEC Crypto Task Force is working on defining boundaries for what the SEC should not regulate and is holding public and online roundtables on crypto rulemaking. The US crypto regulatory landscape is changing significantly, with the White House planning a crypto summit and the SEC ending lawsuits and investigations against various crypto companies.
