Crypto transfers in Europe are facing restrictions due to heavy KYC procedures and blocks, potentially related to the Travel Rule. Coinbase is reported to be blocking transfers to recipients other than the user, requiring proof of ownership when sending to a self-custodial wallet, and identifying senders when receiving funds. Compliance with the Travel Rule is becoming more common, as mandated by FATF guidelines. European banks are also blocking fiat transfers to crypto platforms.
