BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) saw a $29.5 million inflow on Jan. 13, contrasting with significant outflows from other US Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Fidelity’s Bitcoin ETF (FBTC) and ARK’s Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) led the losses. Over three days, the sector saw over $1 billion in outflows, signaling potential shifts in institutional investment strategies. BlackRock is extending IBIT to Canada, following its success in the US, offering investors exposure to Bitcoin without custody challenges. Helen Hayes, iShares Canada’s leader, highlighted the convenience and cost-efficiency of this launch for Canadian investors.
