The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is preparing for options trading on BlackRock’s spot exchange-traded fund iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). Nasdaq plans to list and trade options on IBIT soon. Analysts expect other Bitcoin ETFs to start options trading this week. This approval could bring new capital and liquidity to spot Bitcoin ETFs, attracting institutional investors and enhancing Bitcoin’s financial utility.
