Solana Foundation Vice President of Technology Jacob Creech outlined upcoming upgrades for Solana on Aug. 30. Transaction V1 will be activated on Sept. 9, increasing transaction size to 4,096 bytes. The first stage of a network rent reduction will begin the week of Aug. 31. Plans for further slot time reductions and the Alpenglow upgrade are also in the works, with October targeted as the release date for Alpenglow. Legacy transactions will remain compatible with the new upgrades.
