Ethereum researchers proposed a post-quantum-ready validator deposit contract to replace the current BLS signature system. The proposal supports variable-length public keys and signatures and includes a mechanism for staged transition and eventual phase-out of BLS deposits. The proposal is still in draft stage awaiting further review and discussion.
