Fake downloads of The Odyssey are spreading Lumma Stealer malware disguised as high-quality movie releases, putting crypto wallets, passwords, and browser sessions at risk. Bitdefender identified malicious Windows executables posing as movie files like 1080p, WEBRip, and Blu-ray. Lumma Stealer can steal sensitive data and U.S. authorities have previously linked it to information theft incidents. Spyware collected sensitive information from phone galleries, such as passwords and wallet recovery phrases. Developer tools were also used to distribute malware, targeting crypto and AI developers for wallet data and credentials. Bitdefender warned users to avoid malicious executables disguised as videos and keep security software updated to protect against attacks.
