Ethereum researchers are proposing changes for the 2027 Hegotá upgrade that prioritize Frame Transactions and FOCIL to allow privacy pools to pay network fees directly. Frame Transactions would give wallets more control over transactions, while FOCIL would protect eligible transactions from censorship. The upgrade is targeted for 2027 after the Glamsterdam upgrade in 2026.
