Myanmar’s Parliament passed the Anti-Online Scam Bill targeting digital currency fraud, online scam centers, and forced scam labor. The bill includes penalties of 10 years to life in prison and even death penalty for certain offenses. The legislation aims to combat the active scam-center industry in Myanmar. The final law implementation and enforcement are pending.
