BitMart is shutting down its global cryptocurrency exchange in phases due to operating conditions and future strategy. New registrations, deposits, and orders were stopped, with trading services ending on August 26. Withdrawals are still available, with deadlines set for closing positions and submitting withdrawal requests. The exchange plans to terminate all operations by January 31, 2027. Traders reacted to the announcement with a 63% drop in the exchange’s platform token, BMX. The closure follows recent service restrictions and comes after other crypto platform closures. Users are warned about potential scammers taking advantage of the shutdown.
