Andreessen Horowitz, also known as a16z, has opened a Seoul office in South Korea to strategically expand across Asia, with a focus on crypto. The firm plans to support portfolio companies in entering South Korea and other Asian markets, with the initial emphasis on crypto initiatives. The office will be led by Park Sung-mo, a16z Crypto’s Asia-Pacific go-to-market lead. The firm aims to help its portfolio companies grow and enter new markets, with recent investments in AI search startup Exa Labs and Digital Asset Holdings. a16z also plans to contribute to South Korea’s startup ecosystem by connecting portfolio companies with local businesses for expansion across Asia.
