Kalshi launches advocacy group with Trump aide

Kalshi is supporting a new advocacy group, Americans for Fair Markets, to combat the gaming lobby’s opposition to prediction market regulation. The group, led by former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich, aims to shape federal policy and counter false narratives spread by sportsbook and casino interests. The prediction market industry, valued at $500 billion, is facing regulatory scrutiny. The gaming lobby has also launched FairPredicts to target Kalshi. AFM plans to use campaign-style tactics and join the Coalition for Prediction Markets. The regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly, with bipartisan bills and CFTC rulemaking expected to strengthen consumer protections. Kalshi is expanding its lobbying efforts to defend its market position against entrenched interests.
