Plasma blockchain’s total value locked has reached $2 billion, making it the seventh-largest blockchain globally. Tether chose Plasma as one of four networks to support its self-custody wallet. The CLARITY Act approaching a Senate Banking Committee markup is seen as another driver of capital flowing into stablecoin infrastructure. Plasma was backed by Bitfinex and Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, with Tether providing $2 billion in liquidity at launch. The CLARITY Act’s potential passage is expected to bring new capital into stablecoin-focused chains and protocols.
