Circle’s Layer-1 blockchain Arc will launch with a post-quantum signature scheme to protect user wallets from potential quantum computing threats. The USDC issuer warns that quantum computing capabilities could arrive by 2030, with adversaries possibly already stockpiling encrypted data for later decryption. The blockchain has been on testnet since October 2025, using USDC as the gas currency.
