The US Department of Justice has finalized the forfeiture of over $400 million in assets seized from Larry Dean Harmon, the operator of the darknet crypto mixing service Helix. Harmon processed over 354,000 Bitcoin between 2014 and 2017 to launder funds from darknet markets. Harmon was sentenced to three years in prison in 2024 for operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business.
