Tajikistan has approved a law imposing fines and up to 8 years in prison for Bitcoin miners using stolen electricity due to worsening winter energy shortages. The law targets illegal electricity use for virtual asset mining, linking it to power shortages, financial losses, and money laundering risks. President Rahmon must sign the bill for it to take effect.
